The Zero Breeze Mark 3 is a 48V compressor-driven portable climate unit that cools and heats. Cooling capacity is 5280 BTU at a 500W rated input; heating capacity is 5800 BTU. That's more than double the Mark 2's output from a unit that's only slightly heavier — the Mark 3 weighs 22 lb and measures 22 × 10 × 12 inches. Refrigerant is R290 (propane), which is more efficient and more environmentally friendly than the R134A in the Mark 2. Dual-hose architecture handles intake and exhaust separately, keeping the space pressurized and maximizing effective cooling. An active drain system expels condensate automatically — no manual emptying.

The 48V system is the defining design choice. Running the Mark 3 from a 12V or 24V source requires the Zero Breeze 48V Booster (sold separately), which steps up to the required voltage with 85–90% efficiency. The Mark 3 Battery (1022Wh, 21700 LiPo) charges via wall adapter, solar (12V–60V DC input), or the cigarette lighter cable (trickle). At 500W draw in Rocket mode, a single battery runs roughly 2 hours. In Sleep or Care mode the draw drops substantially and runtime extends to 4–6+ hours. Two batteries in the Plus Extra package covers most full-night cooling scenarios in moderate ambient temperatures.

Seven operating modes — Rocket, Cool, Sleep, Fan, Dry, Care, and Heating — with a built-in thermostat that cycles the compressor to hold a set temperature. Effective cooling area is approximately 100–150 sq ft in a well-insulated, properly sealed space. IPX4 moisture protection. Operating ambient range: 50°F–104°F (10°C–40°C).

Overview

48V compressor-based portable AC and heater. 5280 BTU cooling / 5800 BTU heating, 500W draw, 22 lb. Dual-hose, active drain, 7 modes with built-in thermostat. Runs from dedicated battery, solar, or 12V/24V source via 48V Booster.

Key features

  • 5280 BTU cooling / 5800 BTU heating — R290 refrigerant, 500W rated cooling input; covers 100–150 sq ft in well-insulated spaces
  • 48V DC system — runs from Mark 3 Battery, solar (12V–60V DC input), or vehicle/power station via 48V Booster; working range 38V–58.5V
  • Dual-hose + active drain — separate intake/exhaust prevents depressurization; condensate expelled automatically
  • 7 modes with built-in thermostat — Rocket, Cool, Sleep, Fan, Dry, Care, Heating; thermostat cycles compressor to hold set temperature
  • Mark 3 Battery: 1022Wh — 14 lb, 21700 LiPo; ~2 hrs at Rocket, ~4–6+ hrs in moderate modes; solar-chargeable

Use cases

Off-grid overnight cooling and shoulder-season heating in rooftop tents, overlanding trailers, van sleeping areas, and small RV bunks. Most effective in insulated, sealed spaces up to 100–150 sq ft. Also used for dehumidifying (Dry mode) in humid conditions and maintaining sleeping-temperature setpoints overnight via the built-in thermostat.
