This super-efficient DC-powered rooftop air conditioner is one of the smallest rooftop air conditioners ever built.  With the twin-cylinder rotor compressor, the Velit 2000R Mini delivers 7000 BTU of cooling capacity and draws as low as 20A (at 12V). The unit can be directly powered by most vehicle alternators without the need for a second battery. It also has a slim profile with only 6.5” of clearance and can easily fit in the standard 14x14 rooftop cutouts.

This is a complete kit. For van installs or other uneven surfaces,  you need to purchase the sealant separately.  Sealant is not required for flat surface installs such as RV roofs.

Overview

Compact DC rooftop air conditioner for 12V or 48V systems. One of the smallest units available for standard 14×14 in. rooftop cutouts at 6.5 in. exterior clearance. No inverter required.

Key features

  • Twin-cylinder rotary DC compressor — 7,000 BTU (12V) / 8,500 BTU (48V); draws 20–50A (12V), 5–14A (48V)
  • 6.5 in. exterior clearance — half an inch lower profile than the full 2000R; fits tight rooflines
  • Alternator-direct capable at 12V — can run off most vehicle alternators without a secondary battery
  • 45 dB eco mode — quietest operation of the Velit rooftop lineup
  • Complete installation kit — brackets, gasket, trim panel, remote, 15 ft wiring harness with in-line fuse

Use cases

Builds where rooftop clearance is at a premium — low-roof vans, shorter Class B rigs, or boats with tight coaming height. The 12V alternator-direct capability makes it a practical choice for anyone not yet running a dedicated house bank. Also suited to stealth builds where a lower, less visible roofline matters.
