Will it eat into my rear passengers' headroom?
It can if you let it hang loose. Cinch the corner cords down with the ITW barrel locks to pull the mesh tight against the headliner, or unclip the front G-hooks in a few seconds when you're carrying a full back seat.
Is it hard to install, and can I remove it?
No. The front clips to the grab handles with G-hooks; the rear attaches once to the factory coat-hook bolts with a 10mm socket. No drilling. After that it clips and unclips in seconds whenever you want the space back.
