Overview
The Bandit 900 is a freestanding 900mm-wide canvas swag with a fitted 70mm foam mattress and a sealed PVC bucket floor. It is the narrowest model in the Bandit line — sized for one adult plus gear, or two who pack close.
Key features
- 400 GSM 65/35 poly-cotton canvas on 9.5 mm black-coated stainless steel segmental-arch poles — fully freestanding
- 70 mm (2.75 in) high-density foam mattress fitted inside
- 550 GSM HF-welded PVC bucket floor with HF seam-tape-sealed seams
- Two-way entry, full zip-down storm covers, and zippered mesh windows on each end for crossflow
- No.10 heavy spiral self-repairing poly zips throughout
- Pitched 2150 × 900 × 850 mm; packs to ~37 in × 16 in roll at ~13.2 kg (29 lb)
Use cases
Solo overlanders and hunters use the 900 as a fast freestanding ground shelter that packs small enough for a one-person carry. Its narrow footprint also makes it a common permanent fit-out on tray-backs, trailer decks, and rooftop platforms where a wider double swag won't sit.

Does the 900 really sleep two people?
It can, but it is tight. At 900 mm (35 in) wide the Bandit 900 is the narrowest model in the line. One adult sleeps comfortably with room for gear; two adults fit only if they pack close. Couples who want elbow room should size up to a wider Bandit.
Is it freestanding?
Yes. The segmental-arch stainless poles hold the swag's shape without stakes, so you can pitch it on a deck or tray. Peg the four corners down once it's positioned — freestanding does not mean wind-proof.
Will the floor keep water out?
The floor is a 550 GSM HF-welded PVC bucket that rides up the sidewalls, and the seams are HF seam-tape-sealed. That combination is built to stop ground water from wicking in underneath you.
Do I need a separate mattress or sleeping pad?
No. A 70 mm (2.75 in) high-density foam mattress is fitted inside. Most users add only a sleeping bag or quilt on top.
Is this a three-season or year-round swag?
It is built for year-round, three-season use. Zip the storm covers down to seal out wind and rain, or open the mesh end windows for crossflow ventilation when it's warm.
How big is it packed, and how heavy?
It rolls to roughly 37 in long by 16 in in diameter and weighs about 13.2 kg (29 lb) — a one-person carry, though not featherweight.
Does the canvas need any prep before first use?
Like most poly-cotton canvas, season it before you trust it in heavy rain. Wet it down and let it dry once or twice so the weave swells and the stitch holes seal. After that the 400 GSM canvas sheds water well.
