Can one person set it up?

Yes, in calm conditions. The 6-arm box truss is self-supporting, so a single person can swing it out and lock it. Two people is faster, and for overnight or windy camps you should drop the six telescoping legs and stake the guy ropes.

What roof rack or vehicle do I need?

Plan on about 87 inches of usable rack length on the passenger side, mounted to a rack rated for the load. Before you commit, check that your rear hatch or barn doors clear the swing of the arms when the awning opens.

How are the LED lights powered?

The four 58-inch dimmable strips run off a USB switch cord or the app. There is no built-in battery, so you power them from a 12V or USB source — a portable power station or your rig's electrical system works fine.

Will it hold up in wind?

Freestanding is meant for calm conditions and quick stops. For wind or overnight, that's what the six telescoping legs (52.5 to 100 in) and guy ropes are for — set them and stake it down. Leaving it freestanding in gusts is how awnings get bent.

How do I keep the canvas from getting moldy?

Pack it dry. The 320gsm polycotton honeycomb canvas will mildew if you roll it up wet and leave it, so let it dry before it goes back in the transit cover. The cover's #10 zip is self-repairing if it skips a tooth.

Does it work with a rooftop tent?

Yes. Two ceiling pass-through panels let you move between a rooftop tent and the awning space for side or rear entry, so you're not stepping out into the weather to get between them.
