The MAXTRAX Xtreme is the alloy-tooth recovery board in the MAXTRAX lineup, and this set comes in olive drab — a flat military green that hides dirt and won't flag your rig from a mile off. You get a pair: two boards, one for each drive tire. Each board carries 88 hard-anodized alloy teeth molded into a fiber-reinforced nylon body, and the pair is rated for roughly 9,900 lb — built for loaded trucks and frequent recoveries, not the occasional sand bog.
The alloy teeth are what set the Xtreme apart from the lighter MAXTRAX boards. They bite into both the tire tread and the ground, so a heavy rig claws forward instead of polishing the board smooth. Each board weighs about 10 lb (the pair ships around 20 lb), measures roughly 46 x 13 x 4.5 in, and stacks flat for storage. Six built-in handles make them easy to grab and place, and the tapered ends double as shovels to clear sand or mud before you drive on.
Wedge one under each drive tire teeth-up, ease onto the throttle, and let the tread engage. The nylon flexes under full vehicle weight and springs back to shape. When a tooth eventually wears, back it out with a T-50 Torx bit and drop in a replacement — no need to retire the board.
