MAXTRAX Xtreme Traction Boards (FJ Red)
MAXTRAX Xtreme Traction Boards (FJ Red)
The MAXTRAX Xtreme is the heavy-duty board in the MAXTRAX recovery line. It measures 45 inches long and carries 88 replaceable hard-anodised alloy teeth that bite into your tire tread and the ground beneath it, so a stuck rig in sand, mud, or snow drives itself back out. Each board is rated to 4,500 kg, which covers a loaded full-size truck or a built overland rig.
What sets the Xtreme apart from the standard polymer boards is the teeth. They are alloy, not molded plastic, and they back out one at a time with a T-50 Torx bit. Chew up a few on a hard recovery and you swap them in the field instead of buying a new board. The body is the same engineering-grade reinforced nylon MAXTRAX is known for, with extra thickness at the high-pressure points. Six glove-friendly handles and a shovel cast into each end round it out.
This FJ red set ships as a pair, so you have a board for each drive tire from the start. Made in Australia and backed by a limited lifetime warranty against faulty materials and workmanship.

Overview
The MAXTRAX Xtreme is the toughest board in the MAXTRAX range, built for heavy vehicles and repeat hard use. It uses 88 replaceable alloy teeth and a reinforced nylon body to recover a stuck rig without a winch or a second vehicle.
Key features
- 88 replaceable hard-anodised alloy teeth, each removable with a T-50 Torx bit
- Rated to 4,500 kg per board
- 45 inches long with six glove-friendly handles
- Engineering-grade reinforced nylon body with extra thickness at pressure points
- Shovel cast into each end for clearing material before a recovery
- High-visibility FJ red for spotting in mud, snow, and dust
Use cases
Built for full-size trucks and loaded overland builds that flat-out destroy molded-tooth boards. Heavy-rig owners, professional crews, and first responders run the Xtreme because the alloy teeth take more abuse and rebuild in the field instead of getting tossed.

How is the Xtreme different from the standard MAXTRAX boards?
Same shape and length, but every tooth is replaceable hard-anodised alloy instead of molded polymer, and there's extra material at the high-pressure points. It's the board built for heavier rigs and repeated hard recoveries.
Can I replace the teeth if they get chewed up?
Yes. Each of the 88 alloy teeth backs out with a T-50 Torx bit and swaps individually. A board that took a beating gets refreshed instead of retired.
What's the load rating?
Each board is rated to 4,500 kg, which covers a loaded full-size truck or a built overland rig.
Does it work in sand, mud, and snow?
Yes. The teeth grip your tire tread and the surface under it, and the shovel ends help clear material before you wedge the board under the tire.
Will a spinning tire damage the teeth?
The alloy teeth handle heat and abuse far better than molded polymer, but they still last longest if you ease off the throttle once the tire catches. Let the board do the work instead of spinning on it.
Is this one board or a pair?
A pair. You get two boards, so you can put one under each drive tire on a recovery.
