Overview
The MaxTrax Xtreme is a pair of vehicle recovery boards with 88 replaceable hard-anodized alloy teeth. It's the heavy-duty tier of the line, aimed at loaded rigs and people who recover often. This is the stealth black finish.
Key features
- 88 hard-anodized alloy teeth, bolt-on and individually replaceable with a Torx/T-head tool
- Engineering-grade fiber-reinforced nylon body, made in Australia, UV-stabilized
- Rated to roughly 9,900 lb (4,500 kg) per board
- Six built-in carry handles plus a shovel end on each board
- 46 x 13 x 4.5 in per board, about 10 lb each / 20 lb per pair
- Lifetime warranty against faulty materials and workmanship
Use cases
Self-recovery from sand, mud, and snow under heavy loaded rigs. The black finish suits builds that want recovery gear on the roof rack without bright color. Alloy teeth make this the pick for frequent recoveries where nylon teeth would heat up and wear.

Is this one board or two?
It's a pair. You get two boards, one for each drive tire, at the listed price.
How is the Xtreme different from the standard MaxTrax?
The Xtreme swaps molded nylon teeth for 88 hard-anodized alloy teeth that bolt on and are individually replaceable. Alloy resists the heat that can melt nylon teeth during wheelspin, so it holds up to heavy and frequent use.
How much vehicle can they handle?
Each board is rated to about 9,900 lb (4,500 kg). A pair under your drive tires covers the heaviest loaded overland rigs.
Can I replace the teeth if they wear or break?
Yes. Each of the 88 alloy teeth unbolts with a Torx/T-head tool and swaps individually, so you don't replace the whole board.
Will high-speed wheelspin damage the teeth?
Ease onto them. Even alloy teeth grind down faster under aggressive wheelspin. A slow, steady crawl lets them bite and lasts far longer.
Does the black color hold up in the sun?
The nylon body is UV-stabilized like the rest of the Xtreme line. Black runs a bit warmer in direct sun than bright colors, but the material is rated for it. Rinse off grit and salt after sand or beach use to keep the teeth clean.
