Can I use this as a kinetic or snatch recovery rope?
No. A static rope has almost no stretch, so it will not absorb shock the way a kinetic rope does. Use it as a winch extension, tree trunk protector, or bridle, and pair a kinetic rope when you need a running snatch recovery.
How do I rig it as a tree trunk protector?
Wrap it around the trunk as low to the ground as practical, then join the two end loops to your winch rope with a soft shackle. The 18 mm UHMWPE body spreads the load and protects the bark.
