MaxTrax MkII Traction Boards — Gunmetal Grey (Pair)

The MaxTrax MkII is the original recovery board, sold here as a pair in gunmetal grey. Each board measures 45 x 13 x 3.5 inches and weighs 7.5 lb, so the set runs about 15 lb. They are molded from UV-stabilized, engineering-grade reinforced nylon and rated to roughly 9,900 lb — enough margin for most trucks, vans, and loaded overland rigs sitting in the 6,000 lb range.

Recovery is simple: clear the soft stuff with the shovel ends, wedge a board under each drive tire, and idle out. No winch, no anchor point, no second vehicle. The rugged teeth bite into your tread while the board floats the tire on a firm base, and the double-edged shape makes the boards easy to slide into place. Six built-in handles spread the weight for one-hand carries, and the pair nests to just 3.5 inches tall for storage.

Keyhole accessory points let you lock the boards to a roof rack or spare-tire mount with MaxTrax mounting pins (sold separately). The gunmetal grey finish keeps the kit low-key — recovery capability without the safety-orange billboard on your rack.
