Can it charge my phone directly, without a power station?
Yes. The connection box has two USB ports — USB-A up to 12W and USB-C up to 15W — so it charges a phone or small gear straight off the panel in sun. No power station needed. USB-C has no full USB-PD, so it tops out at 15W: good for phones, not a laptop fast-charge.
Which Jackery power stations does it work with?
It feeds the small and mid Jackery Explorer line through the included DC8020 cable, with a DC8020-to-DC7909 adapter for older inputs. At 40W it's a trickle top-off, so it's matched to smaller stations — not bulk-charging a 1 kWh-plus unit.
How fast does it actually charge?
In direct, square-on sun, USB-C will put a phone at about 50% in roughly 30 minutes. It's a 40W panel — a topper, not a generator. Cloud, shade, or a poor sun angle drops output fast, so aim it square at the sun and re-aim as the sun moves.
Is it really waterproof, and can I leave it out?
The panel is rated IP68 for water and dust and runs from -4°F to 149°F, so rain and dust aren't a problem. The connection box and ports are the weak point on any folding panel — keep the port cover closed and cables seated when it's wet.
How small and light is it?
