Overview
The Heroclip Large is a 100 lb-rated swivel gear clip with a 360-degree rotating hook and a grippy beak tip. At 3.3 oz it folds flat to ride on a pack strap or rack until you need to hang something.
Key features
- 100 lb load rating — the heaviest-duty size in the Heroclip line.
- 360-degree swivel hook plus 180-degree pivot so loads hang square at any angle.
- Beak tip with rubber insert grabs flat edges and finished surfaces without sliding.
- Folds flat to 5.24 in closed; opens to 9.1 in, 4.1 in wide.
- Machined anodized aluminum body with a composite swivel; 3.3 oz (~94 g).
Use cases
Hang packs, jackets, and lanterns off the floor inside a rig or tent, or clip bulky outdoor gear — kayaks, paddleboards, floodlights — to a rack or rail. Because it folds flat and rides clipped to a strap, it's the hook that's already on you when there's no hook in sight.

How much can the Heroclip Large hold?
It's rated to 100 lb — the heaviest-duty size in the line. That covers kayaks, paddleboards, floodlights, and fully loaded packs.
Can I use it for climbing or to support a person?
No. It's a gear hanger, not climbing or life-support hardware. Never use it to hold a person's weight.
How does the hook open and rotate?
Press the gate and swing the hook out. It swivels a full 360 degrees and pivots 180 degrees, so you can aim the load any direction. It folds flat against the carabiner when stowed.
What's the beak tip for?
The beak grabs flat edges a normal carabiner can't — ledges, tailgates, tabletops, shelf lips, branch forks. A rubber insert keeps it from sliding off.
Will it scratch what I hang it on?
The contact points are rubber-lined, so it grips painted and finished surfaces without gouging. On soft finishes, test the hold before loading it near the 100 lb limit.
The swivel looks like plastic — is it strong enough?
The swivel is polymer-encased over the steel works. Reviewers who loaded it to the rating found it held without flex, but it's still gear-rated only — see the climbing question above.
