Will this mount my Crosswing to factory roof rails or only aftermarket racks?
The clamp plates grip a wide range of both stock and aftermarket crossbars. If your rack has integrated T-slots, you can skip the clamp plates and bolt the Talon Mounts straight to the bars.
Do I need a separate kit for each vehicle, or can I share one awning?
Buy a second pair of Talon Mounts for the other rig and leave them installed. The quick-attach brackets let you move the same Crosswing awning between vehicles in minutes.
Can I set the awning height, or is it fixed?
At install you choose from three deployment angles, so you can set the Crosswing at the height that clears your door or matches your campsite.
Can I mount this to a vertical surface like a truck bed rail?
Top-of-crossbar and T-slot mounting work with this kit alone. Vertical surfaces need the Talon Mount components combined with Kammok's Vertical Brackets, which are sold separately.
Is it really a one-person install?
Once the mounts are fastened to your vehicle, the quick-attach brackets let you position and secure the awning by yourself. Mounting the hardware to the bars first is the part worth taking your time on; re-check the clamp-plate bolts after the first few trips as they settle.
