Bed Rack Mounted Ratchet Strap
Bed Rack Mounted Ratchet Strap
The TRUKD Bed Rack Mounted Ratchet Strap is a 3/16" aluminum bracket pre-paired with a Rhino USA 1" retractable ratchet strap (403 lb working load limit, 1,209 lb break strength). The bracket bolts to any T-slot position on a TRUKD T Series crossbar — or any rack using 1530-series extrusion or single T-slot profile. One unit per pack. Lifetime warranty. Made in Pittsburgh, PA.
The retractable reel stays mounted on the rack. Strap pulls out when you need it, retracts and locks when you don't. No stuff sack, no hunting through gear for a tie-down before you can leave camp. Non-TRUKD rack users need to source T-nuts sized for their own extrusion profile — TRUKD's included hardware is spec'd for 1530.
Pairs with the Rack Mounted Tiedown Points and Ladder Tiedown Rabbit Ears for a full cargo management system. Includes: 1× 3/16" aluminum bracket, 1× Rhino USA 1" retractable ratchet strap, TRUKD mounting hardware.

Use cases
The standard install is one strap per crossbar station for routine cargo runs. For a kayak, a rooftop cargo box, or any asymmetric load, pair one Ratchet Strap with two Tiedown Points (sold separately) for a triangulated three-point anchor. Buyers also use a single strap as a permanent cinch for a soft cooler or gear bag that rides the crossbar every trip.

Does the strap come included or do I buy it separately?
It's included. Each pack contains one Rhino USA 1" retractable ratchet strap pre-paired with the aluminum bracket. The Rhino USA strap has a 403 lb working load limit and 1,209 lb break strength.
What racks does this fit beyond TRUKD?
The bracket is designed for 1530-series aluminum extrusion (15mm × 30mm) and any rack with a single T-slot. Many aftermarket bed and roof racks use 1530 or the metric equivalent. If your rack uses a different extrusion profile (Prinsu uses 14mm T-slot, ARB uses a proprietary profile), confirm slot width before ordering — and note that you'll need to source your own T-nuts since TRUKD's included hardware is spec'd for 1530.
What is the load rating for the bracket itself?
TRUKD does not publish a separate bracket load rating. The Rhino USA strap's 403 lb WLL is the strap's own rating — the system rating (bracket + T-nut pull-out + strap) is not independently published. Do not use this for recovery anchor applications.
How many can I run on one rack?
No stated limit — the bracket positions anywhere along the T-slot, so you can mount as many as the crossbar length allows. TRUKD's own recommended setup pairs the Ratchet Strap with Tiedown Points and Rabbit Ears across multiple positions for a complete cargo management run.
Does this work with the Tiedown Points and Rabbit Ears?
Yes — TRUKD designs all three as a system. Rabbit Ears capture a ladder or round object laterally, Tiedown Points add secondary anchor hooks, and the Ratchet Strap provides the tensioning cinch. Any one of the three works standalone, but the full trio is the intended setup for an RTT ladder or complex load.
