The Velit Portable Air Heater is the same 14,000 BTU / 4,000W fuel heater as the Velit 4000W — same twin-cylinder combustion chamber, same barometric altitude compensation, same CO and flammable gas sensors — built into a crushproof, rainproof portable case with quick-connect ports for fuel and air. The magnetic air duct snaps on. The fuel line connects via a dry-break fitting. Waterproof aviation plugs handle electrical. You can break the whole setup down and pack it up without tools.
Available in gasoline or diesel. What's the difference between the Portable Heater and the Velit 4000W?
The core heater is the same — same BTU output, same barometric compensation, same CO sensor and glow plug. The difference is form factor: the Portable Heater is built into a crushproof rainproof case with quick-connect ports (dry-break fuel fitting, magnetic air duct, waterproof aviation plug). The 4000W uses a standard rubber fuel line and is designed for permanent installation in a van or RV. Choose the Portable if you need a heater that moves between vehicles or use cases.
What does the BYOC Kit include?
The BYOC (Bring Your Own Can) Kit adds a custom can cap with a fuel line dry-break and pre-assembled pickup line. You install the cap on your own fuel can — it's compatible with Rotopax, NATO cans, and most overland-style gas containers — and the dry-break connects directly to the heater's fuel inlet. No cutting or splicing required.
How does the Detachable One-Gallon Fuel Can work?
The detachable can has an attached dry-break fitting that snaps into the heater's fuel inlet. It holds 1 gallon of fuel, which at the heater's low output setting runs about 7–8 hours. The can attaches to and detaches from the heater body for easy transport. It does not need to be removed for operation — it rides with the heater as a self-contained unit.
Can I use this with my existing Rotopax?
Yes. The BYOC Kit's dry-break cap is compatible with Rotopax and most overland fuel containers. Install the cap on your Rotopax, and it becomes a ready fuel supply for the heater with a tool-free dry-break connection.
Does the gasoline version work differently from the diesel version?
The core heater mechanics are the same. The fuel tuning differs — the gasoline variant is calibrated for gasoline combustion, the diesel variant for diesel. Gasoline performs more reliably in extreme cold (diesel can gel below roughly -20°F). Choose the variant that matches the fuel you already carry.
