The Velit 4000W is a 12V fuel air heater rated at 14,000 BTU with a modulating range of 5,600–14,000 BTU. It runs on gasoline or diesel — whichever fuel your vehicle already carries — tapping your existing tank or a separate jerry can. Operating range is -40°F to 75°F ambient. No inverter, no shore power: 12V DC in, heat out.
The unit includes a built-in CO sensor and flammable gas sensor that shut the heater down automatically if dangerous accumulation is detected. A barometric pressure sensor adjusts the air-fuel ratio for altitude — tested above 11,000 ft in Colorado. Bluetooth thermostat control works up to 100 ft from the unit. Japanese glow plug is rated for 3× the lifespan of generic plugs. Controller is weather-sealed. Two-year limited warranty.

What's the difference between the gasoline and diesel variants?
Mechanically identical — the heater body, sensors, and controls are the same. The difference is fuel type: the gasoline variant is tuned for gasoline combustion characteristics, and the diesel variant for diesel. Gasoline tends to perform more reliably in extreme cold (diesel can gel below about -20°F). Choose the variant that matches the fuel your vehicle already carries to simplify your setup.
Can it tap directly from my vehicle's fuel tank?
Yes. The heater uses a fuel pickup line that can connect to your vehicle's auxiliary fuel port or to a separate jerry can or tank. The complete installation kit includes everything needed for the connection, including auxiliary fuel port connectors sized for Sprinter, Transit, and ProMaster vans. You are not required to run a dedicated fuel tank.
How does the altitude compensation work?
The heater includes a barometric pressure sensor. As altitude increases and air becomes thinner, the sensor automatically adjusts the air-fuel ratio to maintain clean combustion without manual adjustment. This prevents the carbon buildup and performance degradation that affects fixed-ratio heaters at elevation. It was tested above 11,000 ft in Colorado.
What happens if CO builds up in the cabin?
The Bluetooth thermostat includes a carbon monoxide sensor. If CO concentration reaches a dangerous level, the heater shuts off automatically. The built-in flammable gas sensor provides a second layer — it detects propane, gasoline vapor, and similar gases and also triggers an automatic shutoff.
How do I control it?
The included Bluetooth thermostat pairs with the Velit app on your phone. You can set target temperature, schedule operation, and monitor the CO sensor readout from up to 100 ft away. The thermostat extension wire (10 ft) lets you mount the thermostat away from the heater unit.
How loud is it?
Approximately 45 dB on low output — similar to a quiet desk fan. On high output it runs around 55 dB. This is significantly quieter than a generator and roughly comparable to a diesel heater of similar output from other manufacturers.
