The TRUKD Awning Mount is a pair of 3/16" aluminum brackets that attach most awnings to any TRUKD T Series crossbar. Textured black powder coat finish. Brackets mount at the top of the crossbar — that's a hard requirement, not a preference. Lifetime warranty. Made in Pittsburgh, PA.
The mount works with all T Series heights — 6.5", 12.5", 18.5", and 24.5" — but awning height is determined by the upright height on the side you're mounting. If you want the awning arm higher on a low-profile rack, the right move is taller uprights on that side, not a different mount. Running 18.5" uprights on the passenger side and 12.5" on the driver side (the Overlander configuration) is the standard approach for pairing a low tent with a usable awning height.
Confirmed compatible awning brands sold by TRUKD: Outland Motorworks Wrap-Around Porch Big'Un 270, Taruca Rogue 270 S and 270+ XC (LHS/RHS), Sterling Adventure Co. 180° and 270° freestanding awnings. The T2 90° Shower Awning Swing-Out (sold separately) bolts directly to these brackets using the included 5/16" carriage bolts. Which awning brands will actually fit?
TRUKD sells these alongside Outland Motorworks Wrap-Around Porch Big'Un 270, Taruca Rogue 270 S and 270+ XC (LHS/RHS), and Sterling Adventure Co. 180° and 270° freestanding awnings — those are confirmed fits. The manufacturer says "most awnings" will attach, but specific bolt patterns and attachment arm widths vary by brand. How high will the awning sit?
Awning height is determined by the upright height on the side you're mounting — the brackets themselves always sit at the top of the crossbar. On a 12.5" rack the awning mounts at 12.5" above the bed rail; on an 18.5" rack, at 18.5". If you want a higher awning arm on a lower rack, the solution is taller uprights on the awning side, not a different mount. The Overlander Configuration (12.5" driver / 18.5" passenger) is the most common approach for pairing a low tent with a usable awning height.
Will it work with my tonneau cover?
The awning mount sits at the top of the crossbar — whether your tonneau cover still operates freely depends on the rack height and cover type, not the mount itself. The same compatibility rules that apply to the T Series rack apply here. Roll-up soft covers generally clear the 12.5" uprights; retractable covers (Retrax, Roll-N-Lock) require the T-Slot rack variant. The mount adds no additional height beyond the crossbar.
Does it work with the TRUKD T2 Shower Awning Swing-Out?
Yes — the T2 Shower Swing-Out bolts directly to these brackets using 5/16" carriage bolts and adds a 90° pivot arm for a shower enclosure or side awning. The awning mount brackets are the required base hardware for the T2. Buy the brackets first; the T2 pivot arm sells separately.
Does this work on non-TRUKD racks?
TRUKD's product copy specifies "our rack systems" as the intended application, meaning compatibility with third-party racks (Leitner, Rhino-Rack, Yakima, etc.) is not confirmed. The brackets are designed around TRUKD's 3" extruded aluminum crossbar profile. If your rack uses a different crossbar profile, verify dimensions with TRUKD before purchasing.
