RotopaX Overland Water Pump Adapter Kit
RotopaX Overland Water Pump Adapter Kit
The Lone Rock Concepts RotopaX Overland Water Pump Adapter Kit attaches a USB-C rechargeable electric pump to any RotopaX water container via a patented CNC-machined UHMWPE adapter (US Patent No. 12,474,000) that threads onto the pour cap. Fits all RotopaX water container sizes — 1-gallon, 2-gallon, 3-gallon, and 5-gallon. Also compatible with blue Scepter cans with yellow hose. Rated 30 gallons or 30 days per charge, whichever comes first. Kit weighs 414g (14.6 oz).
The setup that makes this different from every other container-pump solution: the RotopaX stays on the rack. Whether it's PAX-mounted to a bed rack, a rooftop tent platform, or a vehicle bumper, the pump attaches to the pour cap in place and dispenses water downward without removing the container. No lifting, no repositioning, no tipping. The 304 stainless steel spout angles for one-hand cup filling. USB-C charging means any power bank, vehicle outlet, or solar panel with a USB-C port keeps the pump ready.
Fits RotopaX water containers Gen 1 and Gen 2 in all sizes. No filtration — use pre-filtered water. RotopaX container not included. Kit includes: electric pump, CNC adapter, USB-C charging cable, food-grade silicone hose, 304 stainless steel spout, storage pouch.

Use cases
Primary use is rack-mounted dispensing: RotopaX PAX-mounted to a bed rack, bumper, or tent platform, pump on the cap, water on demand without removing the container. Equally useful for ground-based setups with the RotopaX in the LRC Metal Stand (sold separately). The 1-gallon and 2-gallon sizes are common for day-hiking and solo trips; 3-gallon and 5-gallon with this kit work for group camps where the container lives on the rig full-time.

Does this fit all RotopaX water container sizes?
Yes. The adapter fits RotopaX water containers in 1-gallon, 2-gallon, 3-gallon, and 5-gallon sizes, Gen 1 and Gen 2. It does not fit RotopaX fuel containers — the fuel containers use a different cap design.
Can I use this while the RotopaX is still mounted on my rack?
Yes — that's the primary use case. The adapter threads onto the pour cap in place, so the container stays PAX-mounted to your bed rack, bumper, tent platform, or wherever it's installed. The pump draws water from the mounted container and the stainless spout angles for dispensing without repositioning anything.
What are blue Scepter cans with yellow hose?
These are a specific variant of Scepter military-style water can with a blue exterior and yellow hose/spout assembly. This kit is confirmed compatible with that variant. Note: standard Scepter military water cans (without the yellow hose) use a different adapter — Lone Rock Concepts sells a dedicated Scepter Overland Water Pump Adapter Kit for those.
How long does the charge last?
30 gallons or 30 days, whichever comes first. The 30-second auto-shutoff between pours helps extend charge life. Recharges via the included USB-C cable from any USB-C power source — power bank, vehicle outlet, or solar charger.
Are the water-contact parts food-safe?
Yes. The adapter is machined from UHMWPE food-safe polyethylene, the hose is food-grade silicone, and the spout is 304 stainless steel. The kit has no filtration capability — use pre-filtered water.
Will it work with off-brand RotopaX-style containers?
The adapter is designed for genuine RotopaX brand lids. Off-brand or clone containers that use a similar form factor may require slight modification to fit — Lone Rock Concepts does not guarantee fitment for non-RotopaX containers. If you're not sure whether your container qualifies, contact Lone Rock Concepts before ordering.
Does the RotopaX container come with the kit?
No. The kit includes the pump, CNC adapter, USB-C charging cable, silicone hose, stainless spout, and storage pouch only. RotopaX water containers are sold separately by RotopaX.
Does this pair with the Lone Rock Concepts RotopaX Metal Stand?
Yes. The Metal Stand (sold separately, 2-gallon size only) keeps the RotopaX upright and stable on a flat surface when you're not using the PAX mount. The pump kit and the stand are complementary — the stand is useful for ground-based camp kitchen setups; the pump kit works whether the container is in the stand or rack-mounted.
