Overview
A 5-gallon (18.9 L) roto-molded HDPE Rotopax water pack in OD green. Water-only container that mounts externally and stacks with other Rotopax packs. Sold as the pack alone; the mount is separate.
Key features
- 5-gallon (18.9 L) capacity in thick-wall roto-molded HDPE
- OD green color-coding marks it as a dedicated water container
- Standard Rotopax footprint — interlocks and stacks with fuel and storage packs
- Mounts to roof racks, bed racks, and spare-tire carriers via the Rotopax mounting system (sold separately)
- Screw cap seals against splash and dust; approximate size 17.5 x 13 x 6.4 in
Use cases
Carry camp and cooking water outside the cab to free up interior room, or stack a water pack with fuel and storage packs on one mount for a longer route. Buyers also run a single pack on the roof as a sun-warmed trail-shower feed.

Does this come with a mount?
No — this is the pack only. The Rotopax mounting system (pack mount plus a standard mounting plate) is sold separately, and that's what bolts the pack to a rack, bed, or spare-tire carrier.
Can I use it for fuel?
No. This is a water-only container. Rotopax color-codes water packs separately from fuel packs, so use a dedicated fuel pack for gas or diesel.
Will it stack with my other Rotopax packs?
Yes. It uses the standard Rotopax footprint, so it interlocks and stacks with fuel and storage packs on a single mount.
Does the water taste like plastic?
Only on the first fill, like any new HDPE container. Rinse and fill, then dump it once or twice before real use and the taste clears up.
How heavy is it full, and can my rack handle it?
Full it's around 42 lb of water plus the pack. That's a real load on a moving rack, so make sure your mount and rack are rated to carry it on rough roads.
