The MAXTRAX Winch Ring 120 is a 120mm (about 4.7 in) recovery ring machined from 6061 billet aluminium, with a 12,500 kg (27,557 lb) working load limit and a destructive break load tested to 62,508 kg (137,806 lb). It weighs 620g, so it rides in a recovery bag without adding the bulk of a steel snatch block. The body is polished, brushed, and anodised for corrosion protection.

Loop a soft shackle through the ring, anchor it to a tree-trunk protector or recovery point, and you can do two things a straight winch pull can't. Redirect the line around an off-angle anchor to pull a stuck rig straight, or run a double-line pull to roughly double your effective pulling power. There are no moving parts to jam, freeze, or rust. The trade-off is friction: synthetic rope slides over the ring instead of rolling on a sheave, so a double-line pull moves at about half line speed.

This is synthetic-line gear only. Use it with soft shackles and synthetic winch rope, never steel cable, which would gouge the ring. MAXTRAX designs, engineers, and tests the ring in Australia, and x-rays each one for internal inclusions before it ships.

Overview

The MAXTRAX Winch Ring 120 is a 620g, 120mm aluminium recovery ring for synthetic-line winching. It redirects a winch line or sets up a double-line pull with no moving parts to fail.

Key features

  • Machined from 6061 billet aluminium, polished, brushed, and anodised for corrosion protection
  • 12,500 kg (27,557 lb) working load limit; destructive break load tested to 62,508 kg (137,806 lb)
  • 120mm (about 4.7 in) diameter, 620g bare ring weight
  • For soft shackles and synthetic winch rope only, not steel cable
  • Each ring individually x-rayed for internal inclusions; Australian designed and tested

Use cases

Use it to redirect a winch line around an off-angle anchor so you can pull a stuck vehicle straight, or to set up a double-line pull that roughly doubles effective pulling power on a marginal winch. With no sheave or moving parts, there's nothing to jam, freeze, or seize in the field.
