A pair of MaxTrax MkII recovery boards in FJ Blue. Each board is 45 inches long, 13 inches wide, and 3.5 inches tall, molded from UV-stabilized engineering-grade reinforced nylon. The pair weighs 15 lb and stacks 3.5 inches flat. Two telltale leashes are in the box so you can find the boards once they sink out of sight.

These are sand, mud, and snow self-recovery boards built for a one-person job — no second rig, no winch point. The aggressive cleats bite into both the tire tread and the terrain so a bogged 4x4 climbs out instead of digging deeper. They are tested to wrap a 33-inch tire without cracking and rated for vehicles and light trucks under 7,750 lb.

Six built-in handles make them easy to carry and place, and the molded shovel ends clear sand or mud from in front of the tire. The keyhole mounting points accept MAXTRAX pins for a roof rack or tire-mount setup, or they stack flat against your other recovery gear.

Overview

The MaxTrax MkII is the original recovery board, sold as a pair in FJ Blue. Each board is reinforced nylon with aggressive cleats that grip the tire and the ground at the same time, turning a stuck 4x4 into a one-person recovery.

Key features

  • Sold as a pair: two boards plus two orange telltale leashes
  • Each board 45 × 13 × 3.5 in; 7.5 lb per board, 15 lb per pair
  • UV-stabilized engineering-grade reinforced nylon, made in Australia
  • Tested to wrap a 33-inch tire without breaking
  • Six built-in handles and a molded shovel at each end
  • Keyhole mounting points accept MAXTRAX pins; pair stacks 3.5 in flat

Use cases

Self-recovery in sand, mud, and snow without a second vehicle or anchor. The molded ends double as a quick shovel to clear material in front of a tire, and the boards can bridge a rut or sit under a jack as a stable base on soft ground.
