What's the R-value, and how cold can I take it?
The Insulated Pongo Pad is rated 3.1 R-value, which puts it in three-season territory — spring through fall. It's not a deep-winter pad. For cold ground, stack a closed-cell foam pad underneath to bump your total R-value.
Can I use it on the ground, or only in a hammock?
Both. The taper is optimized for hammock lay, but the 30D GeckoGrip non-slip back is the same feature that keeps it from sliding around on a tent floor. One pad covers hammock and ground trips.
How do I inflate it — is a pump included?
You can inflate by mouth or with a pump sack through the one-way inflation valve, which holds air between breaths. A separate deflation valve dumps the air at pack-up. The air pump is sold separately.
Which Kammok hammocks does it fit?
It's sized for the Roo Double, Roo Double XL, Roo Single, Mantis, and Mantis UL. It can feel a little large in the Roo Single Ultralight. The included accessory kit clips it to your suspension so it stays centered overnight.
Will it work for side sleepers?
Yes. The 3 inches of loft over spot-welded baffles keeps your hips and tailbone off the ground, which is what most side sleepers need from an inflatable pad. It supports up to 300 lb.
