Use cases
Built for shaded or wooded campsites where the rig parks under cover but the sun sits 20-plus feet away. The added length lets you set the panel in a clearing, on a rock, or up a slope and still reach the controller. It also gives flexible-panel users room to chase the sun through the day without unplugging and re-staking the whole kit.

What's the difference between the 12 AWG and 10 AWG versions?
The 12 AWG cable is non-UV-coated — more flexible and lighter, sized for a cable that stays in a bag most of the year and only deploys a few weeks at a time. The 10 AWG is heavy UV-coated cable: stiffer and heavier, but the jacket holds up to long-term sun exposure and it drops less voltage on longer total runs. Pick by how long the cable will stay outside, not just by price.
Will it plug straight into my existing kit?
Yes. Both ends use Anderson SB50 connectors, the same ones on Overland Solar kits, so it goes inline between the panel and the controller with no adapters. Watch the housing color: black and gray SB50 housings mate together, and red only mates with red.
How many amps can it handle?
The SB50 connector is rated for 50A when hot-plugging (connecting under load) and carries up to 120A static once mated. That's well above the current a single overland solar panel produces, so the connector is not the limiting factor in a typical kit.
Can I leave the non-UV cable deployed all season?
No — that's the wrong cable for it. The non-UV-coated 12 AWG is meant for short stints in the sun; left out for weeks the jacket degrades faster. If the cable will stay deployed for long stretches, choose the 10 AWG UV-coated version instead.
