Bushman Awning 78" (78X98) + Room

Overview

The Bushman 78" Awning + Room is a 78 x 98 in. straight-pull vehicle awning bundled with a full enclosed, floored room. It delivers quick-deploy shade off a side or rear rack and converts to a sealed living space for sleeping, gear, or weather shelter.

Key features

• 290gsm polycotton tear-check canvas with a 1500mm PU coating and Light Suppression Technology underside for UV and heat control
• Rivet-free extruded aluminum frame with polyamide flex hinges; deploys in about 60 seconds
• Included room: front and rear doors, side windows and doors, full bug mesh, and a zip-out full floor with ~72-75 in. adjustable standing height
• Up to five sail-track channels for wall panels, an LED strip, gear pockets, or an annex
• 600gsm laminated PVC transit cover with a #10 self-repairing zip; three L-brackets, two guy lines, six stakes, storage sack, and a wrench in the box

Use cases

Buyers run it as a base-camp shade wall that converts to a fully enclosed sleeping or gear room, and as a fast solo-deploy awning off a side or rear rack for trail stops. With the floor zipped out it becomes a floorless changing, shower, or mud room over uneven ground.

Will it fit my roof rack?

It mounts to most flat-bar and platform racks with the three included L-brackets, on the side or the rear of your rig. Some low-profile racks need rack-specific fasteners, so check your rack's channel and bolt spec before you order hardware.

How big is the room and does it have a floor?

The room hangs off the 78 x 98 in. awning footprint with roughly 72-75 in. of adjustable standing height. It has a zip-out full floor: leave it in for a sealed space, or pull it for a floorless setup over uneven or wet ground.

Is the canopy actually waterproof?

The canvas is 290gsm polycotton tear-check with a 1500mm PU coating, and the LST coating and seams shed water and block UV. Polycotton is a breathable canvas, not a dry-bag, so season it once before its first trip and re-tension the guy lines in sustained rain.

Can one person set it up?

The awning deploys solo in about a minute. The room takes longer because you clip the walls and stake it out, which is easier with two but doable alone.

Can I still run a rooftop tent with this?

Yes, as long as your rack has the length and load rating for both. The awning mounts to one side and a tent mounts separately. Confirm the combined static load against your rack and crossbar limits first.

How do I keep the canvas from molding?

Polycotton can mildew if it's packed away damp for the long haul. Let the canopy and room dry fully before extended storage, and air them out after wet trips.
