Bushman Awning 78" (78X98)

Overview

The 23Zero Bushman 78x98 is a straight-pull awning that deploys ~53 sq ft of LST-coated shade off the left, right, or rear of a roof-racked vehicle. Built around a rivet-free E-coated aluminum frame with flexible polyamide hinges.

Key features

• Light Suppression Technology (LST) — dark underside coating diffuses UV and keeps the shade measurably cooler, not just dimmer.
• 290gsm polycotton tear-check canvas with a 1500mm PU coating — sheds rain, resists UV, mold, and abrasion.
• Rivet-free E-coated extruded aluminum frame with flexible polyamide hinges that relieve stress on the rafters and leg poles.
• Up to 5 sail-rope tracks for extension walls, awning room, LED strips, and gear pockets — accessories never load the canopy.
• 600gsm laminated PVC transit cover with a #10 self-repairing coil zip for travel.

Use cases

Run it as a side shade wall over the camp kitchen for midday sun, or rear-mount it so you can open a galley/tailgate setup fully under cover. The same sail tracks let it grow into a walled awning room when you want an enclosed space.

How much shade does it give and how far does it stick out?

It covers roughly 53 sq ft. The canopy reaches about 98 inches out from the vehicle along a 78-inch mounting span, enough to shade a camp kitchen or a tailgate work area.

What does it mount to, and can I run it off the back?

It mounts to a roof rack or crossbars on the left, right, or rear using the three included L-brackets and M6 hardware. Rear-mounting is a common setup so you can open a galley or tailgate fully under cover.

Can one person set it up?

The canopy deploys in under a minute on your own. Mounting the brackets and adding wall kits or an awning room goes faster with a second set of hands.

Is it waterproof, and how does it handle wind?

The 290gsm polycotton canvas has a 1500mm PU coating that sheds rain. Like any awning with this much sail area, stake the included guy lines whenever the wind picks up.

How do I keep the canvas from mildewing?

Let the canopy dry fully before you repack it into the 600gsm PVC transit cover. Polycotton can mildew if it's rolled up wet, so air it out after a rainy trip.
