Do I need the charge controller, or can I plug it straight into a battery?
The panel outputs 22V open-circuit, so it needs a charge controller before it touches a 12V battery. Add the MPPT 10A bundle and you can charge any 12V battery directly. You can skip it only if you already run a controller, such as a power station or a camper solar input with a built-in regulator.
Will it charge a portable power station or battery box directly?
Yes. The 20-foot cable ends in an SB50 Anderson plug plus an SB50-to-SAE adapter, which plugs into common solar inputs like the Dometic PLB40 and most camper SAE solar ports. Stations with their own MPPT input handle the 22V directly; otherwise run it through the controller bundle.
How much power does it make in cloudy or wet weather?
Up to 7A/hr into a 12V battery in good sun. The SunPower Maxeon Gen III cells still produce in overcast, rain, and snow, just at a reduced rate. Angle the panel at the sun and keep the face clean for the best output.
How tough is the fabric, and will it survive riding loose in the rig?

Can I charge phones and tablets without a battery?
