TRUKD Kayak/Gear Mount
Two 3/16" aluminum brackets that bolt into the T-slot channels on any TRUKD T Series or A Series crossbar. Mount a kayak carrier, ski/snowboard rack, or fishing pole holder — or run them as a 1-3/8" RTT height riser when you need a little more clearance between the tent shell and the cab. Seventy-one dollars gets you both brackets and all the attachment hardware. J-hooks are sold separately.
Attachment is the same T-nut and machine screw system used across the entire TRUKD accessory line — no drilling, no truck-specific fitment required. Compatible with all T Series heights from 6.5" through the Double Decker, and with the A Series. The 3/16" aluminum plate matches the T Series crossbar material and finish. The included Loctite on the fasteners is the one thing the install guide specifically calls out; the hardware kit covers it.
Sold as a pair. Kayak J-hooks, ski straps, and fishing pole holder hardware are not included — this bracket is the attachment point that accepts those systems. Lifetime warranty, made in Pittsburgh, PA.

Do kayak J-hooks come with this?
No. The Kayak/Gear Mount includes the two aluminum mounting brackets and all attachment hardware for securing them to the crossbar. J-hooks, kayak saddles, ski straps, and pole holder hardware are all sold separately. Standard J-hook hardware from Malone, Yakima, and Thule fits the bracket mounting pattern.
What's the load rating for the brackets?
TRUKD doesn't publish a per-accessory load figure for the Kayak/Gear Mount. The T Series crossbar system overall is rated 300 lb per set while driving and 1,000 lb parked — the bracket assembly is not the limiting factor. For heavy sit-on-top kayaks (50–80 lb), stay within the crossbar system's overall driving rating.
Does it fit the A Series as well as the T Series?
Per TRUKD's FAQ, all gear mounts are designed to work with both T Series and A Series racks. Both systems use standard 8020 aluminum extrusion crossbars with T-slot channels. If you're on an A Series, verify your crossbar profile matches before ordering — TRUKD's product page confirms T Series compatibility explicitly.
How does it attach to the crossbar?
T-nuts slide into the T-slot channel on the crossbar; machine screws run through the bracket into the T-nut. No drilling into the truck or the rack. The included Loctite threadlocker keeps the fasteners from backing out under road vibration. Total install time is under 15 minutes per bracket pair.
Can I use this as an RTT riser on a 6.5" rack?
Yes. The riser function works on all T Series heights. The two brackets stack between the tent base and the crossbar, adding 1-3/8" of clearance. On the 6.5" rack where clearance is tightest, this is one of the more practical uses for a set of these brackets.
Will it work with non-TRUKD bed racks?
Yes, if your rack uses standard T-slot aluminum extrusion. You'll need to source T-nuts that match your extrusion's slot dimensions — the hardware included is sized for TRUKD's 8020 profile. The brackets themselves are not rack-brand-specific.
