T2 - 90 Degree Shower Awning Swing Out
T2 - 90 Degree Shower Awning Swing Out
The TRUKD T2 90 Degree Shower Awning Swing Out is a 30" aluminum swing arm that pushes your shower awning 30" away from the side of the vehicle. It mounts to any pair of standard awning brackets and pivots 90° outward, then locks in place with a plunger pin for travel. A gas strut from the TRUKD hinge kit family assists the open swing; a fully boxed rear beam and a full-length 3/8" stainless steel hinge pin eliminate sag under load.
Dimensions: 30" long × 6.5" tall × 2⅝" thick, 10 lbs. Available in driver side and passenger side — both swing toward the rear of the vehicle. A direct TRUKD T Series and A Series crossbar mount option is in development; contact TRUKD for current mounting recommendations on rack builds. Includes the swing arm and all mounting hardware. Made in Pittsburgh, PA.

Overview
A 30" swing arm that extends a shower awning away from the vehicle side. Mounts to standard awning brackets, pivots 90° outward, and locks for travel with a plunger pin. Gas strut assists opening; boxed beam and 3/8" SS hinge pin prevent sag.
Key features
- 30" of swing clearance from the vehicle side when fully extended
- Gas strut assisted opening — same strut used in the TRUKD Hinge Kit family
- Plunger pin lock holds the arm closed for travel
- Fully boxed rear beam and 3/8" stainless steel hinge pin — full-length, anti-sag construction
- Driver side or passenger side — both orientations swing toward the rear of the vehicle
Use cases
Camp shower setups where the awning mount puts the shower too close to the truck door or bed. The 30" arm clears the door and gives standing room. Also used to reposition an awning arm for better privacy angle or to clear nearby obstacles at a campsite. Contact TRUKD for current direct-mount options for T Series and A Series bed racks.

What awning brands does this work with?
TRUKD describes compatibility with "any 2× standard awning mounts." Most outdoor shower awnings use a two-bracket mounting standard (two arms with bolt-hole spacing). Confirm your awning's mount pattern matches before ordering — TRUKD doesn't publish a confirmed compatibility list by brand, so contact them at 412-206-1764 if you're matching to a specific awning.
Which side should I order — driver or passenger?
Both sides swing toward the rear of the vehicle. Choose based on where your shower awning is currently mounted. Driver side mounts on the left (US), passenger side on the right. If you have a standard two-arm awning, you'd need one of each to swing the whole awning out.
Does it lock in the open position as well as closed?
The plunger pin locks it in the closed/travel position. The gas strut assists opening and holds the arm in the open position under normal conditions. TRUKD does not describe a dedicated lock for the fully-open position — the strut provides resistance.
Can I mount this directly to a TRUKD T Series or A Series bed rack crossbar?
A dedicated crossbar mount option is in development per TRUKD's product description. Until that ships, contact TRUKD directly for mounting recommendations if you want to integrate it with a bed rack build.
How does the gas strut compare to the one in the Hinge Kit?
TRUKD describes the same strut family — it's the same component sourced for the Hinge Kit. This means the opening action and hold force are similar to what Hinge Kit users are familiar with. The strut is pre-installed on the swing arm.
What's the "T2" designation — is there a T1 version?
"T2" refers to TRUKD's current revision of the shower awning swing arm. An earlier version existed; the T2 incorporates the fully boxed rear beam and stainless hinge pin design for improved sag resistance. The T1 is no longer listed in the current TRUKD catalog.
