Overview

The Dual 1100 is a freestanding dome swag with a 1100mm-wide floor, a fitted 70mm foam mattress, and a fully sealed PVC bucket base. It is the wide King-single in the range — built for one plus a dog and gear, or two at a squeeze.

Does it really sleep two people?

It is the 1100mm wide King-single — the widest single in the line. That is roomy for one adult plus a dog and gear, and two adults fit if they do not mind being close. If you want elbow room for two, step up to a wider model.

Is it freestanding, or do I need a cot or pegs?

Freestanding. The dome poles stand it up on their own, so you can pitch it on the ground, on a cot, or on a trailer deck. Peg the corners down when it is windy.

Do I have to season the canvas before first use?

No. The 400gsm proofed poly-cotton canvas, HF seam-tape sealed seams, and welded PVC floor are ready straight out of the bag.

Will it keep me dry in real rain?

Yes. The 550gsm HF-welded PVC bucket floor and sealed seams keep water out from below, and the full zip-down storm covers seal the end windows up top.

How small does it pack, and how heavy is it?

It rolls to 1150 x 400mm (45 x 16 in) in the included carry bag. Bare product is about 14 kg (31 lb), so it is a one-bag, one-hand carry from the rig.

Can I leave the mattress and bedding inside when I pack it?

Yes — that is the point of a swag. The 70mm foam mattress stays fitted and most folks roll their bedding up inside, so the bed is made before you crack the next zipper.

How do I keep the canvas from going mouldy in storage?

Dry it out fully before long-term storage. Pack it damp and canvas will mildew; air it in the sun after a wet trip and it will last for years.
