Overview

Two triangulated 3/16" aluminum brackets plus two 10" T-slot extrusion sections that extend the rack's usable mounting surface to the side. Bolt directly to the upright or accessory panel face; T-slot accepts standard bike mounts, kayak cradles, and custom gear brackets.

Use cases

Side-mounting bikes, kayak cradles, and paddle holders when top crossbar real estate is exhausted. Works with any T-slot-compatible third-party bracket (Yakima, Thule, KAC, etc.) bolted to the 10" extrusion sections. Two pairs (front and back upright positions) extend the usable arm length for long-wheelbase bikes.

Why are there two versions — what's the difference between T Series and A Series?

The attachment angle matches the upright geometry of each rack generation. T Series uprights are vertical, so the bracket attaches at 90°. A Series uprights have a slight inward lean, so the bracket uses a 15° offset to keep the 10" extrusion sections level. Using the wrong version will result in the extrusion rails pointing up or down instead of straight out.

What bike mounts or kayak brackets are compatible with the 10" extrusion?

Any bracket that accepts T-slot extrusion hardware will work — most Yakima, Thule, and KAC bike arms use T-slot mounting. Kayak cradles with T-slot feet also fit directly. Confirm your bracket's T-slot profile (1530 or metric equivalent) matches before ordering. The 10" length is sufficient for a single-arm bike mount; for larger or heavier setups, two Side Mount pairs at front and rear uprights gives better distribution.

Why can't I use this on a hinged accessory panel?

A hinged panel moves. A bike or kayak hanging off a moving panel creates lateral stress on the hinge mechanism during transit that it's not designed to handle. The Side Mount must attach to a fixed surface — either the upright or a non-hinged accessory panel.

Can I mount an eBike with this?

For eBikes (typically 40–70 lbs), TRUKD requires mounting directly to the upright, not the panel face. The triangulated bracket geometry handles the load when mounted to the structural upright; panel-face mounting is not rated for that weight class.

Can I use two pairs for a full-length setup?

Yes — mounting one pair at the front upright and one at the rear gives you two side rails that span the full upright-to-upright length. This is the recommended setup for long bikes or any gear that needs fore-and-aft support.

Does this work on the accessory panel as well as the upright?

Yes, with the exception noted above: the panel mount is suitable for lighter gear (kayak cradles, paddle holders, lighter standard bikes). Heavy loads require the upright. The brackets are designed to attach to either the upright extrusion face or a flat accessory panel face using the included hardware.
