The Roo Single Ultralight hammock is suspended by our secure, ultralight toggle-and-loop system. The toggles provide a lighter weight alternative to heavier carabiners, and integrate with traditional straps and whoopie slings.
Breathable comfort
Levitas™ 20D nylon ripstop fabric offers an ultralight, breathable alternative to heavier hammock fabrics. A DWR coating protects the ultralight hammock from rain and moisture, while still letting you catch the breeze.
Compressed packing
When the Roo Single Ultralight is unfurled, it provides a comfortable berth for overnight camping. Packed down, the hammock becomes truly pocket-sized in its Sil/PU coated stuff sack.

Does it come with straps?
No. The UL ships with the hammock, the toggle suspension, and a water-resistant stuff sack. You add tree straps separately. The toggle-and-loop system mates with standard daisy-chain straps and whoopie slings, so most straps you already own will work.
How is the UL different from the standard Roo Single?
The UL drops to a 5.9 oz packed weight by using Levitas 20D ripstop and an aluminum-toggle-and-Dyneema suspension instead of carabiners. The standard Roo Single uses heavier fabric and carabiner attachment and weighs more. Pick the UL when packed weight is the priority.
Will the thin 20D fabric hold up?
It is an ultralight 20D ripstop, tuned to shave grams rather than serve as a daily backyard hammock. Stay inside the 300 lb rating and keep it off rough bark and sharp edges, and it holds up for trail use. If you want something to leave hanging on the porch all season, the heavier standard Roo is the better call.
Can I add an underquilt for cold weather?
Yes. The perimeter loops are there to clip on an underquilt for shoulder-season and cold-weather warmth, which keeps your back insulated without stuffing a pad inside the hammock.
Is it waterproof?
The DWR finish is water-repellent, not waterproof. It sheds light moisture and dries fast, but it is not a rain shelter. Pair it with a tarp for wet weather, and pack it dry to protect the coating.
