What ladders does it fit?

Why rear ladders only — can I run it on a side ladder?
No. At highway speed a loaded bag on a side ladder hangs out in the airflow, where it can swing, shift, and stress the straps. The bag is built to ride flat against a rear ladder where it stays shielded, so keep it on the rear only.
Is it waterproof?
It's water-resistant, not a sealed dry box. The rain flap over the 3-sided zip sheds weather, and the bottom drain hole lets runoff and meltwater out — which is exactly why it works for wet gear. Expect it to keep contents protected, not bone dry in a downpour.
