Military Can Overland Water Pump Adapter Kit
Military Can Overland Water Pump Adapter Kit
The Lone Rock Concepts Military Can Overland Water Pump Adapter Kit converts any U.S. military-issue plastic water can (20L / 5-gallon) into an on-demand pressurized faucet. The kit centers on a USB-C rechargeable electric pump and a patented CNC-machined UHMWPE adapter (US Patent No. 12,474,000) that threads directly onto the military can opening — no drilling, no permanent modification. Rated for 30 gallons or 30 days per charge, whichever comes first. A 30-second auto-shutoff prevents accidental pump runoff and battery drain.
At camp the pump delivers consistent pressure regardless of how full the can is or whether it's on a shelf or in the truck bed. That's the practical difference from tipping a full 20-liter can: gravity-fed flow drops as the container empties; the pump doesn't. The 304 stainless steel spout is reversible for a drinking fountain orientation. USB-C charging means any power bank, vehicle outlet, or solar panel with a USB-C port keeps the pump charged — no wall outlet required.
Fits U.S. military-issue plastic water cans (20L / 5-gallon) marked "PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVERNMENT" — the rectangular HDPE cans in tan, green, and desert variants. Does not fit Scepter jugs (different thread pitch — use the Lone Rock Scepter Kit) or Wavian / metal NATO cans (different bung standard — use the Lone Rock Wavian Kit). No filtration — use pre-filtered water. Military can not included. Kit includes: electric pump, CNC adapter, USB-C charging cable, food-grade silicone hose, 304 stainless steel spout, storage pouch.

Overview
USB-C rechargeable pump kit that attaches to U.S. military-issue plastic water cans via a patented CNC-machined adapter and delivers on-demand pressurized water at camp. 30 gallons or 30 days per charge. 30-second auto-shutoff prevents accidental battery drain.
Key features
- USB-C rechargeable electric pump — 30 gallons / 30 days per charge, whichever comes first
- Patented CNC-machined UHMWPE adapter (US Patent No. 12,474,000) — threads directly onto U.S. mil-spec plastic water can opening, no modification needed
- Food-grade silicone hose + 304 stainless steel spout — reversible for drinking fountain orientation; all water-contact parts food-safe
- 30-second auto-shutoff — pump stops automatically after 30 seconds to prevent runoff and battery drain
- Storage pouch included — compact kit packs away clean between trips
Use cases
Camp hand washing, dish cleaning, and drinking water access from a military can without lifting or tipping 20 liters. The reversible stainless spout flips for a drinking fountain setup. Pairs with a spray nozzle for field hygiene and basic shower use. The military can's stackable HDPE construction makes it a practical primary water station when paired with this pump.

Will this fit my Scepter military can?
No. Scepter-branded military water cans use a different thread pitch than U.S. government-issue plastic cans, and the LRC-MC-KT adapter will not fit. If your can has "Scepter" molded on it, order the Lone Rock Concepts Scepter Overland Water Pump Adapter Kit instead. The tell for this kit is the "PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVERNMENT" marking molded into the can's side.
Does it fit Wavian or metal NATO jerry cans?
No. Metal Wavian and similar civilian NATO-style cans use a bung-style opening with a different thread standard than the plastic U.S. mil-spec can. Lone Rock Concepts makes a separate Wavian Overland Water Pump Adapter Kit for those containers. This kit (LRC-MC-KT) is for the rectangular HDPE plastic military cans only.
How long does the charge last?
30 gallons or 30 days, whichever comes first. For reference, 30 gallons equals six full 5-gallon can pumping cycles. Recharges via the included USB-C cable from any USB-C power source — power bank, vehicle outlet, or solar charger. The 30-second auto-shutoff helps preserve charge by stopping the pump between uses.
What is the 30-second auto-shutoff?
The pump runs for 30 seconds after the button is pressed, then automatically shuts off. To continue dispensing, press the button again. This prevents the pump from running continuously if you set it down between pours, and protects the battery from accidental full discharge.
Are the water-contact parts food-safe?
Yes. The adapter is machined from UHMWPE food-safe polyethylene, the hose is food-grade silicone, and the spout is 304 stainless steel. All parts that contact water are food-safe materials. The kit has no filtration capability — if you're running potable water, pre-filter before filling the can.
Does the military water can come with the kit?
No. The kit includes the pump, CNC adapter, USB-C charging cable, silicone hose, stainless spout, and storage pouch only. The U.S. military-issue plastic water can is sold separately and is not included.
What powers the pump?
The pump is USB-C rechargeable using the included cable. Any USB-C power source works — power bank, vehicle USB outlet, or solar charger with a USB-C port. No wall outlet required at camp.
