The MaxTrax Xtreme is a recovery traction board sold as a pair in gunmetal gray, weighing about 20 lb together. Each board carries 88 hard-anodized alloy teeth molded into an engineering-grade reinforced nylon track. The teeth bite into both your tire tread and the ground, so a bogged drive tire climbs out of sand, mud, or snow instead of digging deeper.
This is the heavy-duty board in the MaxTrax line. The standard MKII uses molded nylon cleats; the Xtreme swaps in alloy teeth that hold up to wheel spin and can be replaced one at a time in the field with a T-50 Torx bit. That makes it the pick for full-size trucks, loaded expedition rigs, and anyone who runs hard recoveries often enough to wear teeth out. Each board measures roughly 46 x 14 x 5 in, with six built-in handles for carrying and shovel-shaped ends for clearing material before you wedge them in.
You get two boards — one for each drive tire — plus telltale leashes to find and pull a buried board back out. They stack flat for mounting or storage and carry a lifetime warranty against material and workmanship defects.
