The MAXTRAX Static Rope Extension is a 10 m low-stretch rope that adds reach to your recovery line. It runs 11 mm thick, rates a 11,000 kg (24,250 lbs) minimum breaking strength, and is built from a UHMWPE core with a polyester jacket. Bare rope weight is 0.98 kg, so it stows small and adds almost nothing to your kit.

Static means it does not stretch. That is the point. When your winch cable or main static rope comes up short of the tree or second rig you want to anchor to, you join this 10 m on the end and close the gap. It also works as a length extension on a kinetic rope during a long tow, or as a load-sharing bridle leg in a recovery rig. Because there is no stretch, do not use it as a kinetic snatch rope, where you want a stretchy rope to soak up the shock.

It connects with shackles to a MAXTRAX Hitch, a kinetic rope, another static rope, a winch rope, or your vehicle's rated recovery points. Use a MAXTRAX Core Shackle or Fuse Shackle to make the link. Shackles are sold separately.

Overview

A 10 m static (non-stretch) recovery rope built to extend the reach of a winch line, kinetic rope, or main static rope. 11 mm UHMWPE-and-polyester build with a 11,000 kg (24,250 lbs) minimum breaking strength.

Key features

  • 10 m length to reach anchors well past where your winch cable or main static rope ends
  • 11,000 kg (24,250 lbs) minimum breaking strength on an 11 mm rope
  • UHMWPE core with a polyester jacket; low-stretch by design
  • 0.98 kg bare rope weight, packs small in a recovery bag
  • Joins to a MAXTRAX Hitch, kinetic rope, static rope, winch rope, or rated recovery points with a Core or Fuse Shackle

Use cases

Use it to extend a winch line to an anchor that sits beyond the cable's reach, to add length to a kinetic rope on a long tow recovery, or as a load-sharing bridle leg. It stays static under load, so it is a towing and extension tool, not a snatch rope.
