The MaxTrax MkII Recovery Boards are a pair of traction boards in Signature Orange, molded from UV-stabilized, fiber-reinforced engineering-grade nylon. Each board runs 45 inches long, 13 inches wide, and 3.5 inches tall, and the pair weighs about 15 lbs. Rows of hard nylon teeth grip your tire tread while a wide, flexible base spreads the load across soft ground, so a stuck rig can drive itself out of sand, mud, snow, or pea gravel.
The pair is rated around 9,900 lbs and is built for standard 4x4s near 10,000 lbs. The double-edged design slides under a tire from either direction, and six built-in handles make them easy to grab and reposition. Each board has a shovel end for clearing material ahead of the tire, plus keyhole accessory points for mounting hardware. Run all-terrain or mud-terrain tires for the teeth to bite properly; highway tread grips poorly and can chew the teeth.
