MaxTrax MkII Traction Boards - Pink (Pair)
MaxTrax MkII Traction Boards - Pink (Pair)
The MaxTrax MkII is the original recovery board, here as a matched pink pair. Each board is 45 inches long, 13 inches wide, and runs about 15 pounds for the set. They're molded from fiber-reinforced, engineering-grade nylon with aggressive cleats that bite into the tire tread and into sand, mud, or snow to get a stuck rig moving again.
Each board carries six built-in handles and a shovel-style ramp at both ends, so you can dig out around a buried tire and then wedge the board into place without extra tools. Six handles also mean fast, no-fumble placement when you're working in deep sand or wet clay. The MkII stacks flat with the rest of your kit and accepts MaxTrax mounting pins (sold separately) for locking it to a rack.
One pair handles most self-recoveries: one board under each drive wheel, clear the spin path, then crawl out without flooring it. The nylon is UV-stable and backed by a lifetime warranty against breaking, cracking, or stress-whitening under normal use.

Overview
The MaxTrax MkII is a pair of molded recovery boards for self-extraction in sand, mud, and snow. Engineering-grade nylon, aggressive traction cleats, six handles per board, and a shovel ramp at each end.
Key features
- Sold as a pair (two boards), ~15 lb total; each board 45 x 13 x 3.5 in
- Fiber-reinforced, engineering-grade nylon — UV-stable, won't stress-whiten under normal use
- Aggressive cleats grip the tire tread and the terrain in sand, mud, and snow
- Six built-in handles per board plus a shovel ramp at each end for digging out
- Keyhole slots accept MaxTrax mounting pins (sold separately) for lockable rack mounting
Use cases
Run one board under each drive wheel for a standard sand, mud, or snow recovery. The shovel ends double as digging tools to clear a buried tire first, and the boards can bridge a rut or serve as a stable base under a jack on soft ground.

Is there a weight limit — will they hold my truck?
They're built for standard 4x4s around 10,000 lb and have no hard weight cap. Owners run them under heavier expedition trucks in sand. The lifetime warranty covers breaking or cracking under normal use.
Will the pink fade in the sun?
The nylon is UV-stable, so normal trail use is fine. If you store them permanently mounted in direct sun, the color will eventually fade and the material loses some flex after a few years. Store them out of the sun when they're not in use.
How many boards do I need?
One pair (two boards) gets most vehicles out — one under each drive wheel. Carry a second pair if you wheel deep sand or snow and want a board under all four tires.
How do I use them when I'm stuck?
Clear the sand or mud away from the spinning tire with the built-in shovel ends, wedge the ramp side under the tire toward your direction of travel, then drive on slow and steady. Don't spin the tires — let the cleats do the work.
How do I mount and lock them to a rack?
The keyhole slots take MaxTrax mounting pins (sold separately). One four-pin set secures one or two pairs and locks for theft protection. Hand-tighten the pins only — power tools can bind the lock nut.
