MaxTrax MkII Traction Boards (FJ Blue, Pair)
MaxTrax MkII Traction Boards (FJ Blue, Pair)
A pair of MaxTrax MkII recovery boards in FJ Blue. Each board is 45 inches long, 13 inches wide, and 3.5 inches tall, molded from UV-stabilized engineering-grade reinforced nylon. The pair weighs 15 lb and stacks 3.5 inches flat. Two telltale leashes are in the box so you can find the boards once they sink out of sight.
These are sand, mud, and snow self-recovery boards built for a one-person job — no second rig, no winch point. The aggressive cleats bite into both the tire tread and the terrain so a bogged 4x4 climbs out instead of digging deeper. They are tested to wrap a 33-inch tire without cracking and rated for vehicles and light trucks under 7,750 lb.
Six built-in handles make them easy to carry and place, and the molded shovel ends clear sand or mud from in front of the tire. The keyhole mounting points accept MAXTRAX pins for a roof rack or tire-mount setup, or they stack flat against your other recovery gear.

Is this one board or a pair?
One purchase is a pair — two boards plus two telltale leashes. A pair handles most recoveries; carry two pairs for remote desert or long expedition trips.
What tire and vehicle size do they fit?
They are tested to wrap a 33-inch tire without breaking and are rated for standard 4x4s and light trucks under 7,750 lb (3,500 kg). Heavier rigs that run a lot of recoveries should look at the Xtreme line.
Why shouldn't I just floor it once the boards are down?
Spinning the tires melts the cleat teeth and voids the warranty. Ease onto the boards with gentle throttle in low gear and let the cleats do the work.
Will the sun wreck them?
The nylon is UV-stabilized and resists fading, but long-term direct sun degrades any polymer over time. Store them out of the sun when you are not running them.
Can I use them in snow and freezing cold?
Yes — they are tested in snow and stay usable in the cold. Clear packed snow or ice off the teeth before you drive on them so the cleats can bite.
How do they mount to my rig?
Built-in keyholes accept MAXTRAX mounting pins for roof-rack or tire-mount setups. With no mount, the pair stacks 3.5 inches flat against cargo or behind a seat. </content>
