Overview
The MAXTRAX MkII is a pair of vehicle recovery boards built for self-recovery in sand, mud, and snow. Glass-reinforced nylon teeth grip the tire and the ground at the same time, turning a spinning wheel into forward motion without a winch or a second vehicle.

Use cases
Built for self-recovery when a tire digs into sand, mud, or snow. Dig a ramp with the shovel ends, slide a board under each drive wheel, and ease out under low throttle. They also work as a bridging device across ruts and soft spots, or as a stable base under a jack on loose ground.

How many boards come in the box?
One pair: two boards plus two orange tell-tale leashes. Mounting pins and brackets are sold separately.
Will they hold up under a heavy truck or big tires?
The boards are tested to wrap a 33 in tire without breaking and are used on full-size 4WDs. For larger or heavier rigs, spread the load by running boards under more than one wheel.
Do I need one pair or two?
A single pair gets most rigs out of most situations. In deep sand or heavy mud, a set of four, one under each drive wheel, gives you a better shot at driving straight out.
Will spinning my tires melt or chew up the boards?
The nylon resists wheel-spin damage in normal use, but the teeth aren't indestructible. Once your tires catch and grip, ease off the throttle and drive out slowly instead of holding the pedal down.
How do I mount them to my rig?
The boards have keyhole accessory points that accept MAXTRAX mounting pins for a roof rack, tire carrier, or bed rack; magnetic mounts are also available. Keep them somewhere you can reach without unpacking. Pins and mounts are sold separately.
Will the tan color fade in the sun?
The nylon is UV-stabilized to resist fading and chalking, so it's fine to leave the boards mounted outside.
How do I clean them?
Rinse off sand, mud, and grit with water after use. There's no coating to maintain.
