What roof rack and crossbars do I need?
It mounts to two crossbars. Stock factory bars are often rated around 100 lb dynamic, which is usually not enough for a ~204 lb hardshell tent plus occupants. Use aftermarket bars whose dynamic load rating meets or beats the tent's closed weight, and confirm your vehicle's own roof load limit before you buy.
How many people does it sleep, and is there room to sit up?
It sleeps two adults on a 48 x 79.5 in floor. In full Z-lift mode you get up to 58 in of interior height — enough to sit up, change clothes, and pull your boots on without crouching.
Is it really a four-season tent?
Yes. It is rated four-season. ECO13B fabric with Light Suppression Technology keeps the interior darker and cooler in summer, and a 10 mm insulated underlay beneath the self-inflating mattress cuts heat loss and floor condensation in colder weather.
What is the difference between clamshell and Z-lift mode?
Clamshell mode opens like a standard wedge tent for the fastest setup. Z-lift geometry raises the front wall to full standing height and opens four-way access — doors and windows on all sides for airflow and easy entry. You choose the mode at camp depending on how long you are staying.
What comes in the box?
A self-inflating mattress, a telescoping ladder with a storage bag, a boot bag, and a gear storage bag. Integrated lighting and power are built in: dimmable white and amber LED, USB-A, USB-C, a 12V socket, and an external Anderson plug.
How do I store it long-term?
The PVDF anti-oxidation coating on the honeycomb base is built to handle weather, but like any rooftop tent, make sure the fabric is fully dry before you close it for long-term storage to avoid mildew on the canvas.
