Overview
The Explorer 1500 Ultra is a 1536Wh LiFePO₄ power station with 1800W continuous AC output and a 3600W surge ceiling. It recharges in about 1.5 hours on AC, 2.5 hours on 800W of solar, and ships here bundled with SolarSaga panels as a complete off-grid kit.
Key features
- 1536Wh LiFePO₄ battery, rated 4,000 cycles to 70% capacity
- 1800W continuous AC output, 3600W surge for 5 seconds to handle startup loads
- 1.5h AC recharge via ChargeShield 2.0; 2.5h solar at 800W max input; ~3h from a 12V vehicle outlet
- IP65-rated, 1-meter drop-resistant, level-9 shockproof enclosure
- Operates 5°F to 113°F, with a 5-year warranty (3 standard + 2 extension)
Use cases
Off-grid base-camp power for a fridge, lights, and device charging, recharged by the bundled solar between sunny afternoons. The 1800W inverter and surge headroom also make it a practical mobile power source for jobsite tools where there's no outlet, and the 4,000-cycle pack makes it a reasonable home-backup unit for outages.

What can it run, and for how long?
The 1536Wh pack feeds 1800W of continuous AC. Small loads — laptops, lights, a CPAP, phones — run many hours to overnight. A fridge-style draw uses roughly a quarter of the pack every couple of hours. The 3600W surge (5 seconds) covers the startup spike on pumps and power tools that briefly pull more than their running watts.
What's the difference between the two kit options?
Both kits use the same Explorer 1500 Ultra station. The 200W kit ships two SolarSaga 200W panels for 400W of solar and faster off-grid recharge; the 100 Prime kit ships two SolarSaga 100 Prime panels for 200W of solar at a lighter weight and lower price.
How fast does it recharge?
About 1.5 hours on AC wall power via ChargeShield 2.0, about 2.5 hours on solar at the 800W maximum input, and roughly 3 hours from a vehicle's 12V outlet while you drive.
Does it work in cold weather?
It's rated to operate from 5°F to 113°F. Like all LiFePO₄ packs, it discharges in the cold better than it charges — plan your charging on the warmer side of that window for the best results and longest cell life.
Is it actually weatherproof?
The enclosure is IP65-rated, meaning it shrugs off dust and water spray, and it's 1-meter drop-resistant. IP65 is spray-resistant, not submersible — don't hose it down or leave it in standing water.
