How does the Flipside work?

The Flipside lays on top of your sleeping pad or mattress surface and heats from below — you sleep on top of it. Rather than insulating you from above like a sleeping bag or blanket, it heats the surface you're in contact with. This is particularly effective because cold sleeping pads lose heat to the ground beneath them, and a heated surface counters that directly.

What power source does it need?

12V DC with at least 500Wh capacity and 4A (40W) output. Most modern portable power stations (Goal Zero, EcoFlow, Jackery, Bluetti, etc.) in the 500Wh+ range meet these specs. A vehicle's 12V outlet also works with the included adapter. The Anker Solix C1000 is specifically noted by Ignik as incompatible — confirm your power station's 12V output current before purchasing.

How long does a power station last running the Flipside?

At max 48W draw, a 500Wh power station runs roughly 8–10 hours. At lower heat settings the draw is less and runtime extends proportionally. Most users run the Flipside on a medium setting overnight, which typically requires 300–400Wh for a full night's sleep.

What's the smart controller?

The smart controller manages heat levels and remembers your last setting — turn the Flipside on and it picks up where you left off. It also includes a safety sensor that automatically shuts the unit off if it detects a fault condition. The controller is a separate component included with the bed cover.

Can I use the Flipside with the Topside Heated Blanket?

Yes. Flipside goes on the sleeping surface (under you), Topside goes on top. Running both gives you heated contact on both sides — the most effective cold-weather setup in the Ignik heated sleep system. Both run from 12V, so they can connect to the same power station.

Is it machine washable?

Ignik recommends checking the care label on your specific unit for washing instructions. Generally, heated blanket products with embedded wiring should be washed on a gentle cycle with the controller disconnected. Confirm before first wash.
