How It Works
The DMOS Stealth XL Shovel is the big brother of the award-winning Stealth lineup — it carries all the same DNA but in a larger, deeper-scoop format built for serious volume. Born out of the old DMOS Alpha Expedition Shovel platform, the Stealth XL has an extra-wide blade nearly as wide as a 35" tire, with mitered teeth designed to break through hardpack, ice crust, and compacted sand. Whether you're digging out a buried snowmobile, clearing a campsite staging area, or doing a proper vehicle recovery dig, the XL moves more material per stroke than any other shovel in the Stealth line.
Built from 0.100" thick 6061 aluminum, the Stealth XL handles and blade are milled from 6000-series aluminum with a Nylon Zytel connector and T-grip. The 4-part adjustable handle extends to 62", giving you true ergonomic reach for standing snow work or serious digging without hunching. When you're done, it collapses to 22" x 14" x 3" and locks into the DMOS Stealth XL Mount for secure, rattle-free vehicle carry. Available in multiple color combinations.

How is the Stealth XL different from the Stealth X-Wide?
- Blade Shape: The Stealth XL (21") has a deeper scoop for more volume per stroke; the X-Wide (24") is wider but shallower — better for flat clearing and grooming
- Stowed Size: XL packs to 22" x 14" x 3"; X-Wide packs flatter at 26.5" x 9" x 2.5" — XL takes more height, X-Wide takes more length
- Mount: XL requires the Stealth XL Mount; X-Wide uses the standard Stealth Mount
- Best Use: Stealth XL for deep-snow scooping and snowmobile/vehicle recovery; X-Wide for rapid clearing across wide flat areas
Will the Stealth XL fit in a standard car trunk?
- Collapsed Size: 22" x 14" x 3" — flat enough to slide under a rear cargo floor or alongside gear bins in most trucks, SUVs, and vans
- Mounting Option: Pair with the DMOS Stealth XL Mount to keep it outside the vehicle on a rack or cage instead
What are the mitered teeth for?
- Hardpack Cutting: Angled mitered teeth slice through icy crusts and compacted snow that straight-edge shovels bounce off
- Under-Vehicle Reach: Teeth-forward geometry lets you dig under a buried chassis to free the underside without bending or damage
- Terrain Grooming: Originally designed for sculpting snow kickers — also excellent for leveling campsites and clearing fire lines
What mount and bag are compatible with the Stealth XL?
- Mount: DMOS Stealth XL Shovel Mount (sold separately) — attaches to most racks and roll cages without drilling
- Bag: DMOS Stealth XL Bag (sold separately) — for trunk or cargo carry with organizing pockets for recovery kit additions
