The Delta Pro is DMOS's full-size collapsible shovel built for serious recovery use. Where the Compact Delta and standard Delta use carbon steel blades, the Delta Pro uses 10-gauge 6061 aluminum — harder and more corrosion-resistant than the mild steel in entry-level compact shovels, and light enough to bring the complete weight down to 4 lbs despite full-size blade dimensions.
Blade: 10-gauge 6061 aluminum, powder-coated. Three positions: shovel (perpendicular for digging), hoe (angled for clearing and pulling), and stow (flat for compact storage). The delta blade geometry concentrates force at the leading edge for cleaner starts in hard or compacted material.
Bracket: 10-gauge 6061 aluminum with 12 oversized aluminum smash rivets. The rivet pattern distributes impact force across the connection rather than concentrating it at a single point — the failure mode of cheaper single-bolt bracket designs.
Connector: Solid milled 6061 aluminum. No cast fittings, no flex at the head-to-shaft joint. This is the same connector approach used on the Compact Delta — machined from billet, not formed from sheet.
Shaft: 6063 anodized aluminum, telescoping. Adjusts to three lengths: 29", 41", and 51". Lock at 29" for tight spaces, 41" for mid-reach work, or 51" for full-stance digging leverage. Nylon Zytel T-grip at the top.
Packed size: 24 × 10.5 × 3.5 in — fits most overland rack side rails and standard recovery gear storage.
Colors: Blackout, Signal Orange, Racing Red, Flat Dark Earth.

What's the difference between the Delta Pro and the standard Delta Shovel?
Delta: 14-gauge carbon steel blade, 5 lbs 11 oz, collapses to 24 in, extends to 29/41/51 in. Delta Pro: 10-gauge 6061 aluminum blade, 4 lbs, same collapsed size and same extension lengths, 12-rivet bracket versus 6-rivet on the Delta. The Pro is lighter and the aluminum blade is more corrosion-resistant than carbon steel — better for wet climates or coast/desert environments where rust is a concern. The steel Delta is heavier but some users prefer the blade feel of steel for hard-ground digging.
Why aluminum instead of steel for the Pro version?
6061 aluminum alloy at 10-gauge has comparable tensile strength to 14-gauge mild steel while being significantly lighter. For a shovel that primarily handles push-and-lift digging loads (rather than shock loads like a pickaxe), aluminum performs well and reduces total weight. The tradeoff: aluminum blades can dent on sharp rock impacts where steel would scratch. For sand, clay, dirt, and loose pack, the aluminum performs equal to or better than steel.
How do the three blade positions work in practice?
Shovel mode is the standard perpendicular position — blade faces down, you push straight through the ground. Hoe mode angles the blade for a pulling or scraping stroke, useful for clearing material from under a vehicle or dragging loose material toward you. Stow mode folds the blade flat to the handle for compact transport. The milled connector locks each position solidly — no wobble or play between positions.
Can I mount this to a DMOS rack system?
Yes. The Delta Pro is compatible with DMOS Universal Mount and dedicated Delta-series vehicle mounts (sold separately). The 24 × 10.5 × 3.5 in packed profile fits standard overland rack mounting brackets. Add the Delta Shovel Bag (sold separately) if you want a carried rather than externally mounted storage solution.
What does the limited lifetime warranty cover?
Manufacturing defects — failures from how the shovel was made rather than how it was used. Bent blades from prying, stripped connectors from over-torquing, or handles broken from use as a pry bar are not covered. For legitimate defects (bad welds, faulty rivets, connector failure under normal digging loads), DMOS backs the product for the life of the original owner.
Is the Flat Dark Earth colorway available with a barcode?
The Flat Dark Earth variant (SKU 32718) does not currently have a barcode assigned in the supplier system. It is the same shovel in a different color — all other specs, price, and warranty apply.
