ARB Fridge Wiring Kit
ARB Fridge Wiring Kit
The ARB Fridge Wiring Kit (10900027) hardwires a 12V fridge/freezer straight to your battery. It's 20 ft (6 m) of double-insulated 8 AWG auto cable, pre-assembled with an in-line fuse and 8 mm (5/16 in) ring eyelets that bolt to standard battery terminals. The kit also includes an ARB screw-in surface-mount socket, so it's a complete battery-to-plug solution rather than just a length of wire.
Heavy 8 AWG cable is the whole point. A factory accessory socket and its thin wiring drop voltage under a compressor load, which makes a fridge cycle harder and can trip its low-voltage cutoff. A dedicated run on this gauge keeps the fridge fed at full voltage. The two 1/4 in side-entry quick-connect terminals ship loose on purpose: you trim the cable to your actual run, then solder them on, so the line is no longer than it needs to be. The socket's rear terminals are marked + and - for correct polarity.
The battery end and the in-line fuse come pre-assembled; the only on-site work is trimming to length and soldering the two socket terminals. With 20 ft of cable you have room to route from an engine-bay battery back to a rear cargo area or drawer where the fridge actually lives.

Overview
A complete hardwire kit for a 12V portable fridge/freezer: 20 ft of 8 AWG cable, an in-line fuse, pre-fitted battery eyelets, two solder-on quick-connect terminals, and an ARB screw-in surface-mount socket. It gives the fridge a dedicated, full-voltage feed from the battery.
Key features
- 20 ft (6 m) of double-insulated 8 AWG (6 mm) automotive cable
- Pre-assembled in-line fuse and 8 mm (5/16 in) ring eyelets for the battery terminals
- Two 1/4 in side-entry quick-connect terminals supplied loose to solder after trimming
- ARB screw-in surface-mount socket with + / - marked terminals
- Heavy gauge minimizes voltage drop under compressor load
Use cases
Built for overlanders and off-road rigs running a portable fridge. Wire it to the starter or an auxiliary battery for a stable feed, and mount the socket wherever the fridge lives — rear cargo area, drawer, or canopy — so it draws on its own circuit instead of a shared dash outlet.

Why use this instead of the cigarette-lighter plug?
A factory accessory socket and its thin wiring drop voltage under a fridge's compressor load, which makes the fridge work harder and can trip its low-voltage cutoff. This kit runs heavy 8 AWG cable straight from the battery with an in-line fuse, so the fridge sees full voltage.
Will the eyelets fit my battery terminals?
The battery end comes pre-fitted with 8 mm (5/16 in) ring eyelets that bolt to standard automotive post terminals.
Do I have to solder anything?
Yes. The two 1/4 in side-entry quick-connect terminals ship loose so you can trim the cable to length first, then solder them on. The battery eyelets and the in-line fuse are already assembled.
What does the fridge actually plug into?
The kit includes an ARB screw-in surface-mount socket. You mount it wherever you want the fridge to plug in, and the kit feeds it from the battery — a complete battery-to-socket solution, not just loose wire.
Why is the cable so long?
The 20 ft (6 m) run gives you room to route from an engine-bay battery back to a rear cargo area or drawer. Trim it to your actual run before soldering the socket terminals — shorter is better for voltage drop.
Is the run protected?
Yes. An in-line fuse is pre-assembled on the cable. Keep it accessible; it's the protection point for the whole circuit.
