A 10-amp MPPT solar charge controller bundle that charges a 12V battery from a solar panel, with a 150W / 30V open-circuit input ceiling and button-selectable battery profiles for AGM/flooded, Gel, and Lithium.

Which battery types does it support, and do I have to configure it?
AGM/standard flooded, Gel, and Lithium 12V. A single button cycles the battery type, and the controller applies the right voltages automatically: 14.4/13.8/14.6V boost/float/equalize for AGM-flooded, 14.4/14.4V for lithium, and 14.2/13.8V for gel.
What size solar panel can I run into it?
Up to 150W with a 30V open-circuit ceiling. It's matched to the Overland Solar Bugout 130 and will accept any panel that stays under both of those limits.
How does it connect to my panel and my battery?
Solar goes in through an Anderson SB50. The controller's mini-Anderson output ships with two leads: large alligator clamps for direct-to-battery charging, and a 5-foot mini-Anderson-to-SAE cable for the external charge port found on most campers and trailers. On that SAE lead, the female terminal is positive.
Is it weatherproof enough to leave outside?
The housing is IP45 water-resistant and rated -4 to 113°F. That's fine for rain and splash at a campsite or on a trailer tongue, but it isn't submersible, so keep the Anderson connectors dry when stored.
Why MPPT instead of a cheaper PWM controller?
MPPT tracks the panel's maximum power point and converts that output to match the battery's charge stage, which recovers watts a PWM controller would leave behind, especially when panel voltage runs above battery voltage. The trade-off is a higher upfront cost than a basic PWM unit.
